  two weeks ago while visiting a friend in north carolina, i agreed to go with him to the sunday public talk.

  the public talk was about how the witnesses have the direction of angels while going in service.

  the speaker told some real doozies and you could hear the "oohs and ahhs" from the audience.

  Just like the elder and his wife (in my previous congregation) who said that they'd been praying to Jehovah that they'd get the new house they needed - and voila, their prayers were answered!

  J.W.'s who make such statements are being blindly dismissive and contradictory of a scripture which they enjoy sharing with non-JW.'s :

  (Acts 10:34) "At this Peter began to speak, and he said: “Now I truly understand that God is not partial...."

  God is suddenly partial to them, but not to others in need of life's necessities???

  Signs That Armageddon is "Any Day Now"

  my "anointed" roommate told me a good one today.

  as we were discussing psychotropic medications, she brought up a friend of hers who was recently forced off of "benzodiazepine" (there is no one drug by this name; rather, it is a specific classification of drug).

  she claimed that many people are being forced off of the medication(s) due to "concerns over side effects," and that her friend is suffering from withdrawal on top of whatever symptoms the drug was previously helping to control (she didn't elaborate and i didn't feel comfortable asking, sorry).. my roommate then went on record to say (i'm paraphrasing here) "this is why armageddon has to happen very soon, because satan is using this system to make all these people suffer psychologically to drive them into the streets and go crazy.

  A few days ago I asked someone from my former congregation a question on this very topic. (someone with whom I have discussed everything I know regarding TTATT)

  Despite agreeing with - or more usually being unable to deny what I'm saying - he takes the view that the org's "worldwide brotherhood" is the best there is! :(

  Me: The org has prophesied for 140 years that the end is coming 'soon'. How soon is 'soon' to you?

  Him: Well, the end is 140 years nearer now, and the fact that China is rapidly progressing to become the No.1 world power proves that the end must be very close now, because we know that the Anglo-American world power is the last one - as depicted by the statue in the book of Daniel.

  surely the gb aren't naive enough to believe their own lies.what does it take for the majority of j dubs to wake up to themselves and finally realize that they are being robbed on all levels emotionally.financially,spiritually,intellectually and many other aspects of their day to day lives..

  @ landy - maybe I'm being an optimist, but I believe there must be huge numbers of medium-long term J.W.'s who feel extremely alienated from the "society" because of the continual changes/unscriptural doctrines which are presented as new light, and made worse by the blatant money-grabbing via the new digital-religion of JWdotOrg.

  Such ones won't jump ship, but their contributions in all areas will surely reduce.

  Hidden message in JW bunker video?

  so, i was speaking with a relative recently, who is "in" the borg, but is completely aware of the terrible hypocrisy from the gb down.

  he is not in the box, and its great to be able to have a realistic, and logical discussion about the current state of the org.. we started discussing, specifically, about that bunker video that was released in december.

  how it is being played at all the conventions.

  For all those who are anxiously/eagerly waiting for the WTBTS's version of the great tribulation, sorry to burst your bubble, but the org's hierarchy relies on your gullibility & obedience to believe in a non-event. Forget about digging yourself a bunker.

  To understand the Bible's explanation & context regarding the great tribulation spoken of at Revelation 7:14, just read Revelation 2:22.

  Do not kid yourself that the tribulation of Matthew 24:21 is the same one, but in the future.

  It is not and cannot be the same one, because Jesus said that it would never occur again.

  i recently reconnected with the congregation and started a study.

  cant get my head around all the changes and jw broadcasting.

  Welcome Colin. From the little of what you've shared with us in your introduction, it's clear that you're hearing alarm bells regarding the "society." Don't dive in again - I did, and now I'm 99.9% out of it.

  Do some research, firstly into their "Bible" teachings and then into their doctrinal history from Russell onwards.

  Don't end up feeling foolish (like many of us here) for not seeing the lies and corruptions in the publications sooner.

  I've had enough..

  so last night, after thinking "wow those pesky elders have finally left me alone, maybe since i skipped out on their jc invitation back on august 1st they've given up" wrong.. i go to check the mail and there's an envelope at my front door- lo and behold, another letter from from these elders.. why won't they leave me alone already?

  i'll attach a picture of the letter.. again, same letter as the first one inviting me to a judicial committee on august 15th - and signed by all three elders.. should i just continue to ignore?

  quite frankly i don't give a rats arse i've been enjoying life free from the mind control of the organization, and i just wish they would drop it and let me live life.. like i mentioned before, i am moving to a new home next week, the only reason these elders have my current address ( which happens to be over 100 miles away from the cong ) is because my mother gave it to them, after i gave it to her in confidence to forward me my mail.. so lets just say she won't be getting my new address... i don't have any contact with ones from this congregation (i'm an ex pioneer, so i'm sure if they've gotten word on what i'm doing, i must be satan himself!

  Hi Raven, if I were in your situation, I'd send these self-righteous company-men a formal letter requesting that before you meet with them, they clearly explain what their "concerns" are. Also, since it is a Judicial Committee, you have a right to know the names of anyone who is accusing you of a wrongdoing. (see if the lowlifes are prepared to put their charges in writing)

  Since no one has applied Jesus' counsel of Matthew 18:15-17 - and personally confronted you - you are perplexed at the whole situation and require full disclosure regarding the matter.

  Or you could simply walk away and let them tell your mother that she has caused your "stoning" in absentia.

  during the last decade i've seen so many articles, and top speakers try to downplay that nfb policy.

  now, this weeks wt study mentions a positive experience of someone applying having, "contact and applying nfb with a df relative".

  16 How did the son feel? “I knew that my family did not hate me,” he later said, and that as an "apostate" they hated me more than any other human on earth “but they were obeying Jehovah a real estate organization.” He also stated: “When you are forced to beg Jehovah the elders for help and forgiveness to allow you demonstrate their power and control over you, only then do you realize how much you need him they need your reverence & fear of them.” Imagine the family’s joy when this young man was reinstated after 12 months of carrying out "works which befit repentance." (I'll bet he regretted ever hearing the prodigal son story)

  it’s been a while since i posted some thoughts of mine concerning the jehovah’s witnesses and the watchtower babble and trash society.

  okay, i will be respectable and say it right, the watchtower bible and tract society.

  i do, however, think about the doctrines quite a bit as well as the overall doctrines from christianity in general.

  The only J.W.'s who honestly follow their hearts (in my experience) are now ex-J.W.'s!

  I can only imagine the countless numbers of active Witnesses who are bewildered/dismayed/horrified by the shockwaves which Brooklyn has generated throughout the congregations in recent years - but they are captive to the Org because of its "shun/hate any non-JW's" policy. Hence the reason for so many faders, but the Org is now turning its attention to such ones.

  It'll be interesting to see if the Org decides in the future that "Mr. & Mrs. Searcher (et al) are no longer Jehovah's Witnesses", due to inactivity. If so, expect to see the Org's Master Plan for auditorium capacity really kick in.

  you know how when your asked to talk about something your not interested in how annoying it is, or difficult to debate something from the opposite side of your view.

  after learning ttatt i've come to regard the nonsense the org spouts as quite evil then to have to give parts about how great it is makes me hate it that much more.. story aside, what might you say to the elders to get them to dismiss it or get off your back if you told them your heart's not in it any more?.

  not the obvious it's a stupid hypocritical cult that needs to be wiped from the face of the earth..

  Offering the wolves excuses and lies will only make them view you as being weak or uncooperative, reinforcing their Org-given perception that they dictate how your life is managed.

  Quietly say to the "School Overseer" that you don't want to be given any more platform assignments for the time being. When he asks why not, just say your reasons are private & personal, and that you things to deal with - but thanks for asking and if things change, you'll let him know.

  If confronted within weeks or months, simply repeat, "There's nothing I can discuss at the moment, but if things change, I'll come and talk to you."

  They'll get the message!!
